15th Nov - Day after the CERA Community meeting Council/Insurance/CETA

Had a full on day today with phone calls from different fractions and work of course. I was sitting at the table doing a bit of work before driving to work when my cell rang. It was the investigator man from the Council.
He asked if things had been sorted with the pipes. Ummm yeah right. I said nothing had been done iwth the big hole in my front garden, and was confused over who was doing what etc, just as much as I was months ago. He said he would look into it.

About 10:30am he rang me again and said he had decided to go take a look at the hole in the front and the pipes. I did appreciate that, the first instance of pro activity I had seen for a while from anyone. Then he said the contractor would be out and get it fixed by the end of the week. (I really dont have great faith in that). This man had actually been nice and followed up on what he said, and I was pleased to hear them admit that the argument between who was responsible for which lateral pipes on the property, was indeed the Councils responsibility. Then I was asked about the condition of the temporary fill of the trench dug up by the Council a few months ago, and what was different etc. The big rose bushes had been destroyed, which he asked if they had taken these away at the time. Unfortunately they had not and I paid someone to get this off my ruined lawn, and clear what they could so I could attempt to mow the lawn so it didnt look like a disaster area, especially after having a digger bed down on the lawn and garden for a few nights. I dont care too much for flowers now, but I know from other people that these were worth a bit, plus this garden was once an award winning garden. He offered to try to make things right and what would make me happy. to that I could not answer, and it would not have made much difference if I said I wanted the garden redone, as he said that looking at the pipe and property state, it would be a long time before things were back to normal. A workmate said I should have requested for them to remove the dead carcass under the house, why didnt I think of that. And this man seemed to want to do something, so he may have agreed to this. will keep that for a rainy day. After speaking with him the second time I thanked him for confirming about who was responsible to sort those pipes in that area. The call ended with some confusion though as he said the contractor mentioned that he had to come around to fix the back pipes? This was the same contractor who stood on my patio and said this is where the back laterals are stuffed, and the Council are not responsible for this ,EQC/Insurance were and the Council had done their job already..............
At the moment seems theres a few different factions saying they will be the ones to sort the back pipes.......arghhhhh, Fletcher was coming to do them, EQC are not sure whether to put through an emergency repair, then Council contractor saying he was doing something. Gee hope Ive got enough pipes for them to share amongst them.

Just before this phone call I received a call from Alana from CETA, we have arranged to have a meetinmg this Saturday, she seemed nice and made herself available any day or evening of the week or weekend. Not sure what will come out of this as I no longer have the urge to push for any assistance, others are worse off and I would never ever want to be too big for my own boots.

Later in the afternoon I finally made my call to the Insurance company again, man I get butterflies when I ring them ,even just to think about it. I asked about my DRA report and my stance. AMI are still proceeding with outcomes no matter what, and she would follow up on the DRA report. Strangely enough she said she was at the CERA Community meeting the night before, although AMI was not officially represented, so I am assuming she was one of us. AMI are just as confused about the Geotech reports so I wasnt able to get more info on this. I gave her my email address for any updates and was pleasantly surprised with an email form her within an hour of speaking with her. My DRA report was with the quantity Surveyors and my Arrow assessor was contacted and he would chase it up.
I appreciated her doing this and she wished me luck?

So all in all, I received confirmation that my words on the pipes were true and correct, and what stage the DRA report was at. The rest just caused more confusion for all.................

Ahhhhhh so tired, and 14/15 months later, the battle is still in the beginning stage. All I can do to protect us, is to document my experiences, keep all communications, take pics on a regular basis, and of course share any info I learn.

To others, any support I can offer, or inside info I have seen or learnt over this time through my experiences and dealings, and many hours of research, I would be greatly privileged to help where I can. My friends keep me going, otherwise my life which is becoming a confined space, would be closing in faster, if they didnt rark me up and come see me, and make me laugh!

Sorry if there are spelling mistakes, just too tired tonight to go through it and check :)
